Lion and Tiger Adult Partners

Updated August 5, 2026

Lions in kindergarten and Tigers in first grade participate with an adult partner. The adult partner attends meetings and activities with their Scout, helps them take part safely, and joins in the fun.

Shared Leadership

Lion and Tiger dens use a shared-leadership model. The den leader coordinates the year, while adult partners take turns helping plan and lead parts of the den program. You do not need to arrive with teaching or Scouting experience—the den leader, handbook, and official activity resources provide clear guidance.

Adult Partner Responsibilities

  • Attend Den Adventures, outings, and Pack activities with your Scout.
  • Stay engaged and help your Scout participate rather than observing from the sidelines.
  • Take a turn helping prepare or lead an Adventure during the year.
  • Coordinate with the den leader about supplies, safety information, and any preparation families need.
  • Encourage all Scouts and help create a welcoming experience for the den.
  • Have fun and enjoy the time with your Scout and other Pack families.

Planning Resources

Ask your den leader which Adventure your family will help with and what support is available.
